Miss A is a budding gymnast (if enthusiasm counts for anything, she’d be at the top of the class!) and she is very pleased with her new gym shorts.

I used Carolina Fair Designs’ free Jazz Shorts pattern.  I made size 4, which matched her waist measurement, and they fit perfectly.  Yes, Miss A is very petite for her age.

The black fabric is a viscose/elastane jersey from The Cloth Shop and the sparkly stripey waistband is swimsuit material from Rathdowne Fabrics. There is no elastic in these shorts.  The swimsuit band keeps them up!

These shorts are a super fast sew and have been very well received.  Each weekday Miss A comes home from school, takes off her uniform, changes into her gym clothes and starts practicing.  Ready, set… cartwheel.
