Four

Four years ago today Miss B joined (and completed!) our little family. Happy 4th birthday to our dear sweet girl.
This morning Miss B unwrapped a dress, skirt and some leggings. They weren’t intended to be an outfit, but they are all being worn at once today… like you do when you are four!
The skirt and the leggings have been made before.
Pattern: Oliver + S’s Sunday Brunch Skirt
Fabric: Stenzo pinwale cord purchased online last year from Earthgirl Fabrics. I was using leftovers from a pre-blogging project, so the waistband is in another fabric – pale pink cord with light green spots. Bea approved the pattern and fabric selection before I commenced work.

Size: 4
Pattern: Girls leggings from K3935
Fabric: Cotton/Spandex Hearts in Multi. I have to confess I was really disappointed with this fabric. I brought a three prints from Robert Kaufman’s Remix Knits Collection and two of the three fabrics are printed off grain. I had intended to make t-shirts, but decided that leggings would hide the grain issue better.

Size: XS
The dress is based on my favourite long sleeved t-shirt pattern, which I shortened and added added a gathered skirt. I’m not sure if you can see in the photos, but the gathering part is actually top-stitched to the shortened t-shirt. If anyone is interested, I would be happy to attempt a little tutorial.
Pattern: My own, but based on Ottobre Design – Creative Workshop 301 – The Best T-Shirts : View A (Close Fitting Design) with a gathered skirt top-stitched to the shortened top.
Size: 110cm
Fabric: Super soft cotton/lycra from Alannah Hill Outlet

Happy birthday, Miss Bea! Your outfit is fabulous. 🎂
Thanks Georgina. She’s having a fabulous day!
Happy birthday Miss B!! I love the get ups that little kids get around in….
If I attempt to choose Miss B’s clothes I’m usually told “they are not pretty enough”. The more patterns, stripes, spots and/or rainbow colours there are the better!
She is cute as a button, I want to eat her up 😉
I will confess it’s very hard to stay mad at her even when she’s being a right little miss!
Boy, am I ever jealous of Miss B’s leggings!
I have three more pairs cut out, but unfortunately, they aren’t in your size 🙂
Such a cutie! What a great idea about making that t-shirt pattern into a dress. I have made that t-shirt pattern a squillion times, I might have to pinch your idea for some little girls I owe gifts to!
Pinch away! You have some lovely printed knits in the shop (I’ve been eying them off!) that would be perfect for a t-shirt dress.
She is such a cutie! I have bought stuff from earthgirlfabrics in the past, she doesn’t seem to be adding much to her shop lately. Hope she doesn’t close.
Ingrid, I was thinking the same thing about Earthgirl Fabrics. Fingers crossed she doesn’t close.
Happy birthday Miss B! What a cutie – and what gorgeous Mummy-made clothes. Love your style!
Dress is definitely a hit. It’s been worn again today!
I’m a bit late to comment – but how gorgeous is Miss B in her beautiful dress!
And I love your new Anitas – those colours are perfect on you!!
Never to late Rachel. Always love to hear from you!
