Girls racerback knit dress

Handmade gifts are traditionally delivered late aren’t they? Well this one was. It was a planned Christmas gift for one of Miss A’s friends, but it was only finished and gifted at a park play-date last week.
Miss L was wearing the dress at a dancing themed birthday party this afternoon, so I took the opportunity to snap a few shots of it’s best feature – the racerback!
Pattern: Crafthours – Racerback Dress – Free PDF Pattern & Tutorial
Size: 7-8
Alterations: It was a little roomy for this nearly 7 year old, so I took the side seams in by an inch and removed two inches off the hem.
Fabric: The Ark Habadashery
It was a perfect dancing dress. Woooo hoooo !!
I highly recommend this pattern. I already have another dress cut out, which will be an even later Christmas present for another of Miss A’s friends!
As my girls wardrobes are bursting, I’m enjoying making dresses for other girls in my life. I counted the other day and Miss A has 14 dresses, as well as her school uniform, hanging in her wardrobe. Not to mention the skirts, tops, leggings etc… For a girl who spends 5 days in school uniform 40 weeks of the year… that’s RIDICULOUS !!
Do you sew for others? Are your children’s wardrobes bursting?
Great fabric choice, love the racer back.
Thanks Tanya. The Mum even brought red ribbons for matching bows in her hair!
