Barry in cord
I love and have worn my linen StyleArc Barry Pants loads. As linen pant weather left us in Melbourne, I decided a wintery version of this pattern was required.
So if you were ever wondering if fine cord was suitable for the Barry Pant pattern, I can categorically say yes!
Wondering what I love about Barry?
- The pockets… I used Liberty tana lawn for the pocket bearers to reduce bulk
- The leg shape
- The elastic paper bag waist… perfect for front tucking!
- The back view is pretty good too!
- And finally, the fact that I’ve sewn this pattern before and adjusted it to fit my unique body.
Pattern: StyleArc’s Barry Pant (purchased from work)
Size: 10
Fabric: Fine cord from The Cloth Shop (this colourway has sold out, but others available)
Alterations: I added a wedge to the front rise that was 1″ (2.5cm) at the centre front and 1/2″ (1.3cm) at the side seam… and trued as required. I also added 1/2″ (1.3cm) to the back rise
Outfit: Paper Theory’s LB Pullover, boots from Obus (several seasons ago), Sophie Digard scarf and my Nova Coat
Photo Location: The Warrnambool Art Gallery… Ash Keating’s canvas!
What a GORGEOUS outfit!
What fabric did you use for your LB Pullover?
Delicious colours!! I love winter pants in fine wale corduroy, so soft and cozy. Good to know they work for Bob, thanks.
I wear these cord pants several times a week. They have been an excellent addition to my wardrobe.
They look lovely – such a great colour. The whole ensemble looks fabulous.
Thanks Libby
oh those pants are BEAUTIFUL and I’m inspired to make my own
They get worn several times a week… I might need another pair next winter!
