Anna’s garden
I’m sure you can understand why I was powerless when Liberty released this gorgeous seasonal floral print titled ‘Anna’s Garden’ in 2013. Firstly, my love of Liberty is well known. Secondly, the awesome print was derived from a 1971 scarf design. I love a bit of history! Thirdly, how about those colours? This print came in three colourways, but this was the one that made my heart sing. Finally, did I mention it’s called ANNA’S Garden? Yep, it’s got my name on it! Powerless… did I mention powerless?
So, when you pair a fabulous Liberty print with your favourite pattern, the Aeolian Tee Shirt Dress the result is one happy sewist.
When I’m re-using a pattern, I like to mix it up a little, so with this version I lengthened the sleeves and used visible binding on the neckline.
Pattern: Pattern Fantastique’s Aeolian T-shirt Dress (knee length)
Size: S
Fabric: Anna’s Garden from Tessuti (sold out)
Alterations: Lengthened the sleeves by 5 inches (12.5 cm) and shortened the dress by 2 inches (5cm)
Accessories: Aqua beads a gift & shoes purchased from Siricco.
Photo Location: The Pioneer Woman’s Garden, Royal Botanical Gardens Melbourne
Oh, you look wonderful. These colors are fantastic. That fabric would also be great for that Twist it blouse that’s waiting for you 😉
Thanks Annika. I had a little giggle at your comments, and yes liberty would be perfect for the Twist It blouse, but I have some other cotton voile heading my way especially for the Twist It blouse. It will be a great New Year project for me. Watch this space!
Legs! I think you’ve got the hem and sleeve length just right. You should giggle more in photos it’s my fav.
Thanks Klarissa. I’ll definitely try for more giggle!
