Terra… the winter edition
Firstly, I didn’t sew these Pattern Fantastique Terra Pants, but boy did I enjoyed wearing them in winter and spring. They tick the comfortable but stylish box very nicely.
I commissioned these pants to be sewn by a dressmaker when I was having a busy time in the middle of 2018.
And to tell you the truth, if I had sewn them myself I wouldn’t have selected this fabric as matching fine plaid terrifies me.
The dressmaker fully lined the pants, including the waistband, as the wool was just a touch scratchy. I’ll be wearing these pants for years to come!
The pants were sewn in size 12 (to accommodate my thick waist!) and lengthened by 1.5″ (4 cm) as cold ankles in winter don’t thrill me.
The fit on my behind was improved thanks to a flat bottom adjustment.
And I’m going to finish with a photo that expresses total Terra Pant smugness!

Hi Anna, love the pants, all the nice touches, pockets, welt pockets, fully lined..!! A few years ago I made a Burda skirt 8407 in the same plaid fabric and it is my favourite pattern in skirts. Love your Blog..!!
Cheers Ria
They’re superb! Absolute classics. I like the detail of the bias cut fabric inside the pockets (also saves matching the plaid there!).
And any chance to save plaid matching…
They’ll be worn and enjoyed for years!
Love the pocket on the bias. Xx
One of my favourite things too.
Little details like this often ‘make’ a garment
