The Pyjama Game – Part 1
This didn’t set out as a game, but it sure ended up as one! The aim was to sew myself a pair (as in singular) of pyjama bottoms that I could wear with a long sleeve tee while staying at The Craft Sessions. But somehow it became another chapter in my fitting journey and I now have three pair of pyjama bottoms!
For version 1, I traced the size small of Kwik Sew 3553 (View A) and unnecessarily increased the front and back rise by 1 inch (2.5 cm). I said unnecessarily, as the finished pyjama pants sit high on my natural waist rather than at my preferred belly button level.
The leg length was great but… check out my butt! Just for the record, it’s not often I suggest such things…
Can we all say ‘excess fabric’ together?
I know these are pyjama bottoms and they aren’t supposed to be fitted, but in the ‘making moment’ I felt the need to own my flat bottom and to start to learn how to adjust patterns to accommodate it… or was that the lack of it?

Really we must all own our own bottoms, mustn’t we?
True that Sarah. Own and embrace…
