Floral tops last longer than flowers
One of my lovely sister-in-laws (I have three!) needed some cheering up, so last night I made her a Scout Woven Tee.
Fingers crossed it fits, so my heading – floral tops last longer than flowers – is accurate!
Pattern – Grainline’s Scout Woven Tee
Fabric – Cotton voile remnant from Rathdowne Fabrics (1.5 metres for $8!). I also purchased a 1.6 metre remnant in the blue colourway (Yah!).
Alterations – None
Construction – As per instructions. Although, to avoid changing the colour of the thread in my overlocker (how lazy is that?) I french seamed the shoulders and sides. I discovered after the event that Grainline have a French Seaming Tutorial for straight seams and armholes. I’ll be trying french seam armholes next time!
This is the ‘test’ version, the ‘real one’ will be made up in a gorgeous Liberty.
As well as the washing, ironing, dishes and playing marble run with Miss A, I’ve spent a bit of time this morning working on my 2013 ‘to do’ list. My biggest problem is being realistic, keeping in mind I have stuck my hand up for some pattern testing in Jan and Feb. Exciting times.
Happy New Year to all!
