Bloomers #5
I’ve just finished my fifth pair of baby bloomers from Emma Hardy’s Making Children’s Clothes for my niece. Some previous pairs can be seen here and here. This version might be my favourite one yet!
Main Fabric – from Saffron Craig’s Bird Tree Range purchased as a remnant from Kelani Fabric Obsession
Contrasting Fabric (not seen in photos) – floral remnant from Kelani
Giant Yellow Ric Rac – from Spotlight
Bloomers are great for playing ball with your cousins.
I’m finishing a few projects and trying to put together a realistic beginning of 2013 ‘to do’ list. How are you spending your time – finishing projects, starting new ones, making lists or holidaying?
Super cute!
Very cute! It looks like those bloomers are perfect for running about in! What are the other items in the book like? I need a book of simple basic toddler clothes, but in skinny sizes. Would you recommend this?
Hi Sarah. I’ve only made two things from the book, these bloomers and the smock top. The sizing on the smock top was generous! The other projects that appeal to me are capri pants, elasticated pants with cute pockets, a fully lined a-line dress (buttons at the back), a cord skirt and a poncho. There are the usual accessories that don’t appeal – bibs, booties, aprons, baby hats, scarves – and a few boy patterns. It also has a sleepwear section. I think this book is good value. When I’m looking for a kids pattern I look here before my Oliver + S book. Would like to borrow my copy and check it out properly?
