Orange
During the warmer months it’s all about the Aeolian, but come winter my love for the Linden runs deep. It probably goes without saying… I’m very fond of a raglan sleeve.
This is Linden number five (see one, two, three & four) and, in my books, the fabric is rather unique. The bolt was labelled – slubby organic 100 % cotton. I love the texture, I adore the colour and it has a really nice weight which gives warmth but it still has some drape. I took advantage of a 25% off floor stock sale at Rathdowne Fabrics a few weeks ago and I brought enough for two tops. Yes, you’ll be seeing this fabric again!
Pattern: Grainline’s Linden Sweatshirt (pdf & paper)
Size: 4
Fabric: Slubby organic 100% cotton knit from Rathdowne Fabrics
Alterations: Shortened the sleeves by a total of 2″ (5 cm). Added length to the neckband and the cuffs to account for the lack of stretch in the fabric. Left off the hem band. Added 3″ to the length of the front and back pieces and secured the one inch bottom hem with a twin needle.
Accessories: Sophie Digard scarf from Scarlet Jones and shoes from Habbot
Location: Eastern Suburbs, Melbourne
Looks like a perfect winter staple to me!
It’s already had a bit of wear… a good way to counter the grey skies and cold weather.
Hi Anna, what you’re wearing for winter I’m wearing for summer, or at least very similar. 😄 I love the strong colour of your Linden sweatshirt. Mine looks washed out by comparison.
I am wearing this with a thermal underneath and a winter coat on top (when outside). But that being said, it will be perfect on it’s own in Spring. I’m already hanging out for Spring and Winter has just started!
Great top, I’m lover of raglan sleeves. Colour coordinated perfectly – once again – with the scarf & shoes.
Just love the shoes 😀
Raglan sleeves are the best Jules. Thanks for the style love. I can’t get enough of brightly colour brogues…
I feel like I’m being swayed to the dark side and sewing with knits… I must be cold 🙂
Come and join me on the dark side dear friend… wink wink…
Lovely…you wear orange so well.
I’m one of those people with a swatch of colours that suit me that I carry around. There are so many oranges in the swatch that I’ve embraced this colour with open arms.
Sounds like the perfect winter garment and I love the colour, wonder if there is any left?
Crikey I’m behind with my blog reading! Gorgeous of course!
Too kind!
This is so cheery. It’s getting cold in the UK and I’m thinking of sewing a linden again. Can you remember how much you add to the neckband as cuffs to make up for lack of stretch? I did not make a good job of my first one!
I documented all the amounts in my first Linden Liberty post. https://www.bloglessanna.com/finished-item/jumpercardigan/linden-meets-liberty-fleece/ Cooler weather is perfect timing to add more Lindens to your life!
