I’m frilled!

I’m sharing my frilled Aeolian Tee hack over on Pattern Fantastique’s blog today.
In fact, I was so pleased with the first version, I made another in some precious Nani Iro double gauze. My Instagram followers might remember my test swatch checking out thread colours, binding options and hem finishes. I love how the peach seersucker binding adds a pop of colour to the neckline.
Head on over to Pattern Fantastique’s blog for all the details… I even included some measurements!
Pattern: Pattern Fantastique’s Aeolian T-shirt Dress (top length)
Size: Small
Fabric Top 1: Ex-designer voile purchased several years ago from The Ark at a warehouse clearance
Fabric Top 2: Nani Iro double gauze a long time stash resident & peach seersucker binding left-over from this project.
Alterations: Sewn in a woven rather than a knit. I removed length from the original pattern and added a frill cut on the bias. The hem of the frill has been left raw.
Accessories Top 1: Aqua beads (a gift) & shoes (which you can’t see them in these photos) from Siricco
Accessories Top 2: Antique green beads, hat from Scarlett Jones & shoes (which you can’t see them in these photos) from Habbot
Love both of these tops! You know it’s a good pattern when you’re willing to use precious Nani Iro. 😉
Isn’t that the truth Noelle. Nani Iro is very precious and to be used wisely.
Gorgeous! I love frill tops. I am hoping to make a scout/marthe mash up this summer if I can find the perfect fabric.
That sounds like a great mash up Kat. Fingers crossed you find just the right fabric. My problem isn’t lack of fabric, but that all important ‘time’!
I particularly love the orange and brown… mainly because it’s in my colours, hint, hint 😉
Hint hint taken. I have more of the said fabric… just saying!
Nice tops! Nice photos too!
Thanks Linda
And if SewJillian should mysteriously disappear I’m next in line, right?! That orange/brown fabric is divine, luuuuuve it.
Oh course! How could I say no to you Shelley?
Ooh so pretty and I like the creeper on wall location! You rock a frill so well!
