Flower power
With several other enthusiastic Melbourne sewists, I ventured to the Obus fabric and clothing clearance sale in Brunswick in January 2019. I picked up a few gems, including a 95cm cotton French terry remnant in a fabulous floral print. It wasn’t enough for a jumper, so it sat in the ‘too hard’ stash for 18 months.
After sewing my first version of Fibremood’s Ida Top, and finding it a little wide on the shoulders, I remembered how much I like the neckline on True Bias’ Lodo Dress (sewn here and here). Cue an light bulb moment… what if I used the Lodo neckline on the Ida pattern?
Let’s just say… my vision was realised and I’m thrilled with this pattern mash-up.
Like with the Lodo Pattern, I used woven fabric for the neckline facings. In my opinion, you can’t go wrong with a touch of Nani Iro fabric to elevate a make!
Pattern: Fibremood’s Ida Top with a True Bias Lodo Dress neckline

Location: Warrnambool
So I’m stalking you on your blog now too (creepy?) but I do want to say I’m surprised how well the Ida makes up in french terry. And the woven facing is a revelation, I must try it sometime!
Stalk away my friend. I’m quite partial to be bit of blog stalking my self!
