All ready for Spring
Sewn in July for #sewjapaneseinjuly, but perfect for our current Melbourne Spring weather, this brighter than bright green linen top is a new favourite. The linen was purchased last year from The Cloth Shop, but I have it on good word it will be returning soon.
The pattern is a single-sized Japanese pattern from a book in my collection [ISBN 978-4-579-11395-8]. If the book looks familiar, I sewed this top from it in January this year.
In my opinion, the photograph for Pattern R doesn’t highlight the lovely style lines for this top. Thankfully, the line drawing came to the rescue.
The tucks on the back sleeve just delight me.
The back yoke grew a bit with handling. Next time I sew this pattern, I will stay stitch those curves. And yes, there will definitely be a next time!
As I mentioned earlier, this is a single-sized pattern and I made no alterations. You heard right, not one change! Insert happy dance.
Be warned though, this is a very loose silhouette and there is a lot of fabric in those sleeves… which is not great if you want to wear anything fitted over the top, but perfect for warm days.
I must confess I feel rather chic swanning around in this outfit.
