Fabric find
The fabric gods were smiling on me today. I visited Rathdowne Fabrics while most of Melbourne were watching the AFL Grand Final. I purchased a 2.5m grey 100% wool remnant for the grand sum of $28.13!
It would be perfect for a short winter coat/jacket. But the question is which one (keeping in mind I’ve never made a coat before)? I’d love to make Colette Patterns Anise, but the pattern indicates I would need 3m of fabric. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Keeping in mind Spring has recently arrived in Melbourne, so I probably won’t be making this until next Autumn. I do love to do a bit of planning.
It might be hard to squish a larger pattern like anise onto 2.5m as you’ll be check matching, but it might be possible. Have you measured it or was it marked 2.5m? Sometimes I’ve measured remnants and they’re actually bigger 🙂
Good point Sarah. I will measure tonight. Thanks 🙂
