Another Scout and another one…

Yes, two more Scout Woven Tees sewn up and delivered to my lucky sister-in-law.  She loved her first one so much (it’s apparently been on VERY high rotation!) that I just had to make her more.

I have a Liberty Scout cut out for me too, but we’re off to Adelaide visiting friends for a few days, so it’ll have to wait.  Are there any fabric shops that I should visit while in Adelaide?  Like I need more fabric…

  • I love these. I can’t decide whether to get the tiny pocket tank or the scout t-shirt… how much fabric do they use?

    • I have both the Tank and the Scout and I’ve made Scout 4 times (with a 5th cut out) and haven’t even tried the Tank yet. I prefer the sleeves as they offer a little bit more sun protection. I can get a size 8 or 10 Scout out of 1.1m of Liberty (137cm). It would be less if you used store brought or non-matching bias (the bias isn’t seen). For 115cm wide fabric it’s 1.5m. I hope that helps.

  • What a lucky sister-in-law! I love the idea of a voile t-shirrt….. might have to investigate (like I have time?).

  • Fabric stores in Adelaide are pretty much Spotlight or Lincraft, but there are probably some others. It might also depend which end of town you’re staying. I haven’t been to this one (just out of the city proper), but have had it recommended by a friend who made flowergirl dresses for her daughter’s wedding. http://www.dkfabrics.com.au.wvproxy.com/

  • When in Adelaide, Ferrier Fashion Fabrics would be my first port of call!
    374 Fullarton Road, Fullarton SA
    Then it would be
    Simply Fabrics
    260 Magill Rd
    5067 Beulah Park SA
Hope you have a lovely time and that it is not too hot while you are there

    • Thanks Felicity and Louise. Our trip to Adelaide was a flying visit (two nights). We caught up with friends and had a great trip to the zoo (I love the pandas), but I didn’t get any time fabric shopping… which is actually probably a good thing! I’ll file these places away for next time. Thanks again.

  • Gorgeous tops – you are really getting a workout from that Scout pattern! I haven’t given it a go yet, but every version you’ve made is highly inspiring.
