A little ray of Cielo sunshine
During ISO I was cutting out a project and had a reasonably large piece of teal linen left over and I wondered if there would be enough for a Closet Case Patterns Cielo Top. I found my traced pattern and then searched my blog for any notes on last time I used this pattern. Ooops, no blog post. I then search my camera roll… oh there they are. I accidentally overlooked writing this blog post when the photos were taken.
Sharon kindly took these pics for me in at the end of September last year… which of course seems like a lifetime ago. As per usual, we had lots of giggles during the photo shoot.
This is the size 6 in the c-cup draft of the pattern (c and d cups are available in the PDF only version) and the bust darts are perfectly placed.
I lengthened the top by 2″ (5cm). The pattern was drafted to be cropped, and I’m a little long in the body, so adding this length makes my Cielo just the length I like.
The fabric is was leftover from my Frocktails dress in 2018. It’s a 90% viscose and 10% linen purchased from The Cloth Shop. I love the sunny colour, the slight texture and the drape.
This top is currently in my mending pile as I’ve decided to stitch the cuffs down. Just one of those personal preference things.

Welcome back, at last! Lovely top, love the color and the spot-on fit and execution, and your hair is fab!
Thanks Frances. It’s lovely to be back. We have taken photos of seven garments in the last three days… so lots more blog posts to come!
Beautifull color, beautifull pattern. And the Sophie Digard sjawl is perfect with this blouse. Congratulations!
