Colour-blocked boiled wool scarf
As you already probably know, I adore wearing scarves whenever the weather allows. In my style world, accessories are everything!
When a shipment of colourful boiled wool recently arrived at The Cloth Shop, I decided to sew myself a boiled wool scarf.
A quick google search led me to a Purl Soho tutorial which I adapted for boiled wool that’s 140cm wide. I also altered the construction method because paper-backed glue makes this the quickest project around.
I’ve documented my method for sewing a Colour Blocked Boiled Wool Scarf in the attached document.
This is a great stash busting project for leftovers, or you can purchase 40cm of two colours of boiled wool to make two scarfs… one for you and one for a friend. Use the hashtag #colourblockedboiledwoolscarf on Instagram to share your makes.
As you’ve probably already guessed…. this is not me wearing the scarf! I persuaded a friend to model it for me and the scarf looked so good on her I insisted she keep it!
Clever and stylish! Great method fab lady!
Thank you Sarah. It’s such a quick sew and a cosy wear!
Beautiful model and scarf! Many thanks for the how to document. You have just given me invaluable help with a project that had stalled requiring lapped raw edge seams……
Thanks Belinda. I’m so glad I was able to help.
