Sewice Tea… the 2013 event

Melanie from seamstress: poppykettle (who probably needs little introduction) was the ideas lady and event organiser behind the first annual Sewice Tea (a Melbourne sewers meet-up).
Yesterday I told you about my dress, today it’s time to share some photos of everyone looking AMAZING in their me-made garments. Melanie also has a great event round-up here including a group photo.

It was a fun two hours, which just flew by. I’m so pleased to hear that it will be an annual event. And for all those from who like to frock-up, September 7th (the day before I fly to Queensland on holiday!) has been set aside for Frocktails. Count me in!
So many beautiful fabrics in one room. Looks delightful!
Beautiful fabrics and such a lovely amount of colour, which is refeshing for Melbourne. Melbourne is renown as a city who predominately wears black… or charcoal or chocolate brown if they are feeling adventurous!
Boooooring! My wardrobe is so much more colourful since I started making my own clothes. The colour revolution is in motion!
I make a point never to wear all black! Too boring. Your photos are lovely Anna!
Me too Kat. I think I only own three black items – a pair pants (and I suppose I should confess they are maternity ones – elastic waists are super comfy!) and two blank singlet tops. I do love a bit of colour and I’m also not frightened of patterns. You were just glowing yesterday in your stunning dress. All the best for the coming weeks until the little one arrives.
Oh, looks like so much fun. All of your dresses are just gorgeous! I am hoping to attend for Frocktails, but not sure if I can arrange holiday for that time.
It was lots of fun. It would be lovely if you could come to Frocktails. Fingers crossed that the planets align and you can get holidays at that time.
Fingers and many body parts crossed!!
Oh you got some really lovely photos! And such photogenic subject matter 😛
Yes, everyone was very photogenic! I’m still swooning over your red dress. A work of art that fitted you perfectly. I hope you find many more occasions to wear it 🙂
[…] are a few blog posts about the event now, many with wonderful photos and more detail of their garments – and the general consensus was that […]
Lots of terrific photos! Thanks so much for sharing them all. It was SO MUCH FUN!
It was so much fun!
looks so fun! i love all of those gorgeous frocks!!
It was a great event. I’m looking forward to our next meet-up as there were so many people I didn’t get a chance to even talk to.
So lovely to meet you in person. I’m pulling a rather scary face in that photo! I must also admit to wearing a lot of black …
Lovely to meet you too Oanh. Can you believe I’m already planning my frocktails dress?
Yes 🙂 I believe we all were! Current contender for me: a yellow Belladone!
I do so love a bit of yellow and the Belladone is an awesome pattern. Vogue 1300 in silk (which I’ve been too scared to sew with to date!) is on top of my list…
