Sew Melbourne Garden Party 2018
The rain held off long enough for an afternoon of sewing-based socialising at the second annual Sew Melbourne Garden Party today.
I wore a make from last year… and I still love this dress as much as I did when I first sewed it! The Merchant & Mills laundered linen twill washes and wears so beautifully.
Sharon had a new dress for the day in a beautiful green linen from Tessuti. The pattern is a copy of a RTW dress and it has a lovely pleat detail at the back… which you can’t see in these photos.
Sharon has outdone herself with capturing the afternoon. I hope you enjoy her photos….
Lovely pics. Next year I’ll be there! Xx
You will, you will, you will. You were missed today. I hope you are on the mend.
Love your and Sharon’s dresses. I have a tessuti voucher which I think will get blown on an autumnal coloured linen. I did think of you ladies in that wind!
Dark clouds and the wind did have us ducking for cover in the pavilion for a while, but the sun returned and we found out rightful place back out on the grass. Thanks for the dress love and I totally approve of your plan for autumnal coloured linen!
When is it on in Sydney?
We are very spoilt in Melbourne that we have several different sewing relating gatherings to attend each year. Different ladies have created events that they enjoy hosting – Frocktails, Restash, the Garden Party and Boxing Day Drinks spring to mind. I don’t believe there are plans to take this event to other states, but I’m sure you could grab a couple of sewing friends and create a Sydney based garden party.
So many lovely outfits. Brisbane has high tea on our calendar in the next month – looking forward to our first get together for 2018 ;o)
I think Sydney had something in December but I didn’t see any pictures of it!
Such fun! Who is the woman in the mustard silk? Great dress!
You’ll find her on instagram here – https://www.instagram.com/m_o_l_l_y_m_o_l_l_y/. She’s an inspiring lass.
