Four

Four

Four years ago today Miss B joined (and completed!) our little family.  Happy 4th birthday to our dear sweet girl.

This morning Miss B unwrapped a dress, skirt and some leggings.  They weren’t intended to be an outfit, but they are all being worn at once today… like you do when you are four!

The skirt and the leggings have been made before.

Pattern: Oliver + S’s  Sunday Brunch Skirt
Fabric:  Stenzo pinwale cord purchased online last year from Earthgirl Fabrics.  I was using leftovers from a pre-blogging project, so the waistband is in another fabric – pale pink cord with light green spots.  Bea approved the pattern and fabric selection before I commenced work.

Size: 4

Pattern:  Girls leggings from K3935
Fabric:  Cotton/Spandex Hearts in Multi.  I have to confess I was really disappointed with this fabric.  I brought a three prints from Robert Kaufman’s Remix Knits Collection and two of the three fabrics are printed off grain.  I had intended to make t-shirts, but decided that leggings would hide the grain issue better.

Size:  XS

The dress is based on my favourite long sleeved t-shirt pattern, which I shortened and added added a gathered skirt.  I’m not sure if you can see in the photos, but the gathering part is actually top-stitched to the shortened t-shirt.  If anyone is interested, I would be happy to attempt a little tutorial.
